Troon House

New contemporary ‘farmhouse-style” home with a connected lower level ADU. Situated on a steep lot in Bend, Oregon, this home practiced what we preach when it comes to healthy, high-performance homes. Although not a certified Passive House, this would likely have passed the test if desired. A design/build delivery method was implemented in a partnership with Dream Home Building + Design.

Key Features: Continuous exterior wall and roof insulation, R-20 continuous under slab insulation (lower level ADU), back-vented exterior wall assembly (i.e. rainscreen), non-vented roof assembly with back-vented roofing (i.e. rainscreen concept), triple pane European windows and doors, ducted heat pump heating and cooling (main house), ductless mini-split heating & cooling (ADU), Aerobarrier advanced air sealing system, energy recovery ventilation, Sanden split system hot water heating, solar-ready (due to budget constraints).
